INSTRUCTIONS FOR GEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION (RHMC 15.04.120 amendment to Appendix J Grading, Section J103.2(7) of the Los Angeles County Building Code) • Submit the attached Form. Submit additional sheets if necessary to detail the project • Submit site plan showing areas of study/borings • Submit pictures of site including slopes in the vicinity of exploration area • Erosion control plan may be required •. Borings and test pits must be backfilled to existing grade immediately after exploration is completed and area secured for erosion control • No export or import of dirt is allowed • Dirt from excavation to be covered and watered as needed for dust control • Boring sites and holes to be secured and fenced • If grading is necessary to access the site, a grading plan must be submitted to the City • If grading for the access or to create a pad for the equipment entails more than 3 ft. cut and/or more than 3 ft. fill, a review by the Planning Commission under the Site Plan Review process is necessary • If access to the exploration area was graded and the applicant thinks it may be utilized for future construction, if within six months of said approval plans and application are not submitted for construction on the site, the access shall be restored to its pre -exploration conditions, including landscaping.
