The existing deck has signs of significant distress and needs to be repaired or replaced immediately. Incorporated into this repair work is replacement of the existing retaining wall, which varies from an above ground elevation of 2 feet to 6 feet. The existing retaining wall is visibly failing. The existing structure is a safety hazard and in its current condition is very unstable. The course of action recommended by our office is to build a new structure to replace the existing, with improvements for safety and functionality, per the owner's request.
