199, Construct a canopy and porch a, Resolutions & Approval ConditionsBEFORE THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of the Application of Mr. Charles Thornton Lot 31-RH ZONING CASE NO. 199 FINDINGS AND REPORT The application of Mr. Charles Thornton, Lot 31-RH, Rolling Hills Tract, for a conditional use permit under ARTICLE III, Section 3.06, Front Yard Requirements, Ordinance No. 33 came on for hearing on the 16th day of August, 1977 in the Council Chambers of the Administration Building, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills, California, and the applicant, having submitted evidence in support of the application, the Planning Commission, being advised, now makes its Findings and Report as required by the Ordinances of the City of Rolling Hills, California. I. The Commission finds that the applicant, Mr. Charles Thornton, is the owner of that certain real property described as Lot 31-RH, located at 7 Williamsburg Lane in the City of Rolling Hills, and that notice of the public hearing in connection with said application was given as required by Sections 8.06 and 8.07 of Ordinance No. 33 of the City of Rolling Hills, California. The Commission finds, fur- ther, that no comment, written or verbal, was received in favor of or in opposition to the request. II. The Commission finds that the applicant has requested permis- sion for construction of a: porch and entry canopy and brick paving in the front yard setback. The Commission finds further that due to the Williamsburg character of Williamsburg Lane, the Thornton residence and other residences on Williamsburg Lane are located closer to the road than present building requirements permit, and other homes have brick paving and walkways similar to that requested by Mr. Thornton. The Commission finds that a conditional use permit should be granted in order to preserve substantial property rights possessed by other • • property in the same vicinity and zone, and that the granting of such conditional use permit would not be materially detrimental to the public welfare, nor injurious to property in the same vicinity and zone. III. From the foregoing it is concluded that a conditional use permit should be granted to Mr. Charles Thornton, Lot 31-RH, 7 Williams- burg Lane, for construction of an entry porch and brick paving in the front yard setback under Article III, Section 3.06, Ordinance No. 33, Front Yard Requirements, with the stipulation that construction be limited to a nine foot projection into the front yard as shown on the plan approved by the Architectural Committee, and that the width of the brick walkway not exceed four feet, and it is, therefore, so ordered. /s/ Forrest Riegel Chairman, Planning Commission cretary, Planni Commissivn
