0300.�i01 RESOLUTION NO. 300 A RESOLUTION OF TIRE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO DECLARE SAID CITY A DISASTER AREA WHEREAS, a brush fire occurred in the City of Rolling Hills on -June 22, 1973, and as a direct result thereof ten residential build- ings -and five accessory buildings were totally destroyed and other residential and accessory buildings were partially destroyed; and WHEREAS, as a direct result of said fire all trees, ground cover and other plant life in the fire area and in the vicinity of the destroyed structures and buildings were severely burned, .and such conditions are a direct hazard to the life and property of the residents of the City of Rolling Hills because of the unstable conditions of the partially destroyed buildings and structures and the exposed and unpro- tected swimming pools and other excavations;- and WHEREAS, 'the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los An- geles on July 3, 1973, by its Order No. 169 declared the City of Rolling Hills and an, area located on. the Palos Verdes Peninsula in County ter- ritory adjoining the boundary of the City of Rolling Hills, which was destroyed by fire, as a disaster area; and requested the Governor of the State of California to declare said area to be in a state of disaster and instructed the. C-ounty Counsel to pr=epare a County Ordinance as required by Section .1.55.1 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of California to provide rax relief for the owners of property destroyed by said fire; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOD ED by the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills that the Mayor of said City be authorized and directed to declare. the City of Rolling Hills to be in a state of disaster resul- ting from the effect of said fire and further directing said Mayor to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Governor of the State of California, together with a communication requesting the Governor of the State of California to declare the City of Rolling Hills to be in a state of disaster; BE IT FINALLY MSOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolu- tion be forwarded forthwith to Senator Stevens and Assemblyman Beverly and that each, of said representatives of the residents of the City of Rolling Hills be urged to support th6 declaration by the Governor that the City ofRolling Hills is by reason of said fire in a state of disaster.
