Mayor Pro Tem moved approval of the Traffic Commission
recommendation, Councilmember Murdock seconded and the motion
passed unanimously.

A report was presented by Deputy Traffic Engineer Itagaki. Following discussion, there
being no objection, Chairwoman Leeuwenburgh directed that the item be presented to the
City Council for consideration.

Attached to this Staff Report is a report that was considered
by members of the Rolling Hills Traffic Commission at the
regular Commission meeting held November 15, 1991. Members
of the Traffic Commission unanimously recommended that
the City Council accept the recommendation for placement
of nine type F-1 delineators across from the driveway
entrance at 71 Saddleback Road.
It is estimated that it will cost $700 to purchase and
install these delineators.

At the regular Traffic Commission meeting held on October 18, 1991, staff was directed to
have the Deputy Traffic Engineer prepare an additional report for consideration of minimal
curve warning signs in the vicinity of 71 Saddleback Road. A memorandum and diagram
is attached to this Staff Report regarding this issue.

Subject: ADDITIONAL DELINEATORS ON SADDLEBACK ROAD
REQUEST
Chairwoman Leeuwenburgh requested that the Traffic Commission review the curve
at 71 Saddleback Road. The Commission reviewed the location during their
September 20, 1991 meeting. The Commission then directed the Deputy Traffic
. Engineer to further investigate the location and make any recommendations, if
necessary.
DISCUSSION
Staff has field reviewed the location at 71 Saddleback Road. There is an existing
curve warning sign west of 71 Saddleback Road facing eastbound traffic. An
equestrian trail exists along the easterly of Saddleback Road in the vicinity of 71
Saddleback Road.
Based on the field review, the installation of additional delineators is recommended.
Figure 1 depicts this recommendation.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that additional delineators be installed in the vicinity of 71
Saddleback Road as shown in Figure 1.
