FISCAL YEAR 24/25 BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING
MONDAY, JUNE 10 - 7pm
Annually, in June, the City Council works with staff to
finalize and approve a budget for the next fiscal year
which goes from July 1 to June 30. A budget hearing is
conducted during the regular City Council meeting to
allow residents an opportunity to speak on the FY24/25
Proposed Budget, prior to the Council’s vote.
LA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT’S BRUSH
CLEARANCE INSPECTIONS BEGAN JUNE 1ST
Fire inspections began June 1 and will
continue through the month. Fire personnel
will knock on all residents’ doors for access
to properties and/or make observations
from adjacent parcels when feasible.
Properties deemed out of compliance will receive a Form
410 – Notice of Violation. Residents in compliance will NOT
receive notification. Please consider completing the
following property work for Zone 1, which extends 30 feet
out from the structure. https://fire.lacounty.gov/rsg/
SADDLEBACK SINKHOLE UPDATE
Construction on the sinkhole remediation started May 30th
and is expected to last 8 weeks. Please stay clear of this
area from May 30th to July 30th.
REMINDER: PLANNING PERMITS REQUIRED ON
ALL RESIDENTIAL AND SITE IMPROVEMENTS
All projects in the City require approval from the City’s
Planning Department as well as LA County’s Building and
Safety Department or Willdan Engineering, before work
can legally commence. The RHCA also needs to review
and approve these projects. If you have questions, or
need additional information, please contact the

WEEKLY WALK GROUP
The Needs of Seniors Committee has organized a weekly
walk group every Thursday, starting at 11am. Meet at
Crest Road view spot next to Fire Station. Walk is about
40-60 minutes along Crest Road. All ages welcome.

NOVEMBER 2024 CITY ELECTIONS UPDATE
At the May 13 City Council meeting, two resolutions
were approved calling for a consolidation of the City’s
municipal election with the statewide general election
on Tuesday, November 5. This year, two council seats
are on the ballot and currently held by Mayor Pro Tem
Jeff Pieper and Councilmember Bea Dieringer. The
Nomination period begins on July 15 and ends on
August 9. Any resident interested in running should
contact City Clerk Christian Horvath to make an

MEDICAL BASELINE ALLOWANCE PROGRAM
You may be eligible for the SCE Medical
Baseline Allowance (MBL) program if you
rely on life support equipment, have a life-
threatening illness or health condition, or
have a compromised immune system and
rely on electrically powered medical equipment or
devices. MBL provides an additional 16.5 kilowatt- hours
(kWh) of electricity to your home daily at the lowest
baseline rate to help offset the cost of operating qualified
medical devices or equipment. Customers on a non-
baseline rate receive a flat 11% discount. Customers on
MBL receive advance notification of SCE’s Public Safety
Power Shut- off (PSPS) events. To apply online, visit
sce.com/mbl and click on the “Apply” tab. You can also
call SCE at 800-655-4555, M-F from 8am-5pm to find out if
eligible or for assistance during the application process.
ROLLING HILLS COURTS CLUB ELECTIONS
Elections for the RHCC Board of Directors will be held on
Tuesday, June 25 at 5:30pm in the RHCA meeting room.
Nominations must be submitted by June 10 to
AlyaLucas1@gmail.com. The slate of nominees will be
announced by June 15 on Dwelling Live.
36TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT YOUTH
ADVISORY COUNCIL SEEKS APPLICANTS
Congressman Lieu is seeking high school students
interested in applying for the 36th District’s Youth Advisory
Council. This unique opportunity is for a diverse group of
peers to discuss important issues and get involved locally.
Selected applicants are appointed to a 1-year term (8
meetings). Applicants must provide official high school
transcripts, two letters of recommendation (not from
relatives), a one-page essay explaining why they wish to
be a member of council, a resume, signed consent form,
and an application form. Application deadline: July 5 at
5:00pm. Send to yac.lieu@mail.house.gov.
TENNIS COURT #1 RESURFACING AND
PICKLEBALL STRIPING
Tennis Court #1 will be resurfaced and repainted
exclusively for pickleball, with permanent nets installed,
this summer. The work will take place from August 19
through 22. Court #1 will be unavailable for play during
that time to allow the court for the resurfacing and paint
to cure.
