SITUATIONAL AWARENESS REGARDING
SOUTH AMERICAN THEFT GROUPS (SATG)
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Lomita Station Surveillance
Apprehension Team (SAT) has been monitoring the
recent reports from other areas in which devices used for
surveillance are being placed strategically in locations
that have natural foliage and may blend into the brush
well. SAT has distributed this bulletin to the surrounding
communities in order to bring this to the attention of
homeowners to prevent the group responsible (South
American Theft Groups) also known as SATG from
Monitoring the activities and patterns of movement of
homeowners. Cameras are placed in areas of minimal
visibility within a matter of a few minutes to avoid
detection by law enforcement or the homeowner.
Some Tips to increase situational awareness are:
• Remain highly alert regarding any suspicious
activity in residential areas and contact Lomita
Sheriff Station Detective Bureau directly to report
suspicious activity at: (310) 539-1661.
• Conduct frequent inspections of your property,
including the outdoor areas for any signs of
tampering or unusual objects that may blend in.
• Enhance your home security measures with
motion-activated lights and surveillance systems
to deter potential threats.
• Report any suspicious items such as hidden
cameras or unfamiliar individuals to the Lomita
Sheriff Station Detective Bureau at the phone
number provided above.
