City Council approved utilizing a Cal Water turf
replacement rebate program with focus on removing
high-water use surfaces areas and converting to CA-
friendly, drought-tolerant plant materials. The new
designs are meant to comply with Home Hardening
requirements to serve as an example to the greater
community.
SHIPPING CONTAINER STORAGE QUESTIONS
City Staff have received questions regarding whether
temporary storage containers can be utilized on their
property. Portable storage units such as PODs or U-PACKs
may be stationed on a driveway for no longer than a
week. Per section 17.48.040.A.3 of the Rolling Hills
Municipal Code, one temporary construction storage
container may be used on a temporary basis when
permitted construction is occurring. The container may
be up to eight feet wide and forty feet long and stored
for six months. Additional six-month extensions may be
granted at the discretion of the City if construction is still
occurring. If permitted construction is not occurring,
having a storage container on your property is prohibited.
