UPCOMING FALL COMMUNITY CLEAN UP EVENTS
Brush/ Green waste – Wednesday, October 9, 2024
Larger quantities of green waste will be collected from
your roadside easement. Place the green waste in an
area that is clearly visible to drivers. Please bundle green
waste for easier collection. Bundles should be no more
than 4ft long and no container, bag, or bundle should
weigh more than 60lbs. Green waste bins should not
exceed 35 gallons.
Bulk Items – Wednesday, October 16, 2024
Bulk items, such as furniture, appliances, and rolled rugs,
will be picked up from your roadside easement. Please
ensure items are easily visible to drivers. Set items out the
night before collection or by 6AM on collection day.
Please note that construction and demolition materials
will not be picked up, and all bulk items must be liftable
by two people. Bulk items are for this designated day, and
any items placed past this day will not be picked up
unless scheduled with the operations supervisor. Residents
may utilize their free one-time bulk item pickup for the
year by emailing Rollinghills@republicservices.com; after
the one item, you may incur a fee.
Document Shredding & E-waste Recycling – Saturday,
October 26, 2024
Drop off confidential documents for secure shredding
and electronic waste, such as computers, televisions,
smartphones, and similar items, for recycling at City Hall
between 10AM-1PM. This will be a contactless, drive-
through, drop off event.
MANURE AND GREEN WASTE UPDATE
Recently, the city has been made aware of the mixing of
green waste and manure. Do not mix your green waste
with manure. The scooter drivers and the mother truck will
not be able to pick up your green waste if manure is
found. For manure services, contact Isabel Guerrero at
310-748-3947 or email Iguerrero@republicservices.com.
Manure services consist of a 2-yard bin being placed at
your designated collection location where a special
scout service comes to empty the bin a minimum of once
per week or more depending on your personal needs.
Manure services are contracted privately by residents
through Republic Services.

CITY WEBSITE UPDATES ON EMERGENCY INFO
The City’s website now includes an “Emergency Alerts” tab
with information regarding current events and expedited
permitting of generators, propane, or solar panels for
impacted residents. Visit https://www.rolling-hills.org and
click on “read more” for current information.
DO YOU KNOW YOUR EVACUATION ZONE?
LA County’s Office of Emergency Management has divided
the City of Rolling Hills into three (3) Evacuation Zones.
Portuguese Bend Road (PBR) and Crest Road act as the
dividing “lines” between zones.
• If you live west of PBR & North of Crest – ZONE 1
• If you live east of PBR & North of Crest – ZONE 2
• If you live on the south side of Crest – ZONE 3
In the event of an emergency requiring evacuation –
residents are asked to learn and remember their zone.
Please note: Rolling Hills zones will always start with ROL
followed by the zone number.
Visit PVPready.gov for more information.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The City’s Block Captain Program is recruiting volunteers
to fill vacancies in certain zones. Block Captains work with
the City and First Responders and play an important role
in providing residents information about what to do in an
emergency. For more information contact Debra Shrader
at 310-377-2286 or teach2play@gmail.com or Samantha
Crew, Management Analyst, at 310-377-1521.
MOBILE FLEX VOTING CENTER
LA County will host a mobile flex voting center at City Hall
for Rolling Hills residents only the day before election day
on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 10am to 4pm.
