It’s the most wonderful time of the year… so
please join your neighbors, friends, city staff
and elected officials at the City of Rolling Hills’ Annual
Holiday Open House on Monday, December 9. All
residents are invited to visit City Hall between 4:00 p.m.
and 7:00 p.m. for refreshments and holiday cheer! We
hope to see everyone there.
DECEMBER 10 CITY COUNCIL MEETING
The next City Council meeting will be on Tuesday
December 10, 2024 at 7pm. There is currently no second
meeting scheduled for the month of December.
SHARE A HOLIDAY ORNAMENT FOR THE CITY
HALL CHRISTMAS TREE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
The City invites residents to share an ornament for
placement on the City Christmas Tree ahead of the
Holiday Open House. If willing to participate, bring your
ornament to City Hall during regular office hours (7:30am
-5pm) between November 25 and December 9.
CITY HALL HOLIDAY HOURS
City Hall will be closed Tuesday, December 24 and
Wednesday, December 25 for the Christmas holiday, as
well as Wednesday, January 1, 2025 in observance of the
New Year’s holiday.
CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING PROGRAM
December 26 through January 13
To participate, place your tree next to your green waste,
with decorations and stands removed. Republic Services
will transport it to a facility where it will be used for mulch
and compost. Flocked trees and trees coated with fire
retardant will be accepted. Please cut trees over six feet
in half. Do not place trees in plastic bags. If you have
questions, please contact Republic Services Customer
Service Department at 1-800-299-4898.

CITY WEBSITE UPDATES ON EMERGENCY INFO
The City’s website now includes an “Emergency Alerts” tab
with information regarding current events and expedited
permitting of generators, propane, or solar panels for
impacted residents. Visit https://www.rolling-hills.org and
click on “read more” for current information.
WEST BASIN FREE BARREL GIVEAWAY EVENTS
This fall, West Basin is hosting six drive-through rain barrel
pick-up events on various Saturdays between November
16, 2024 – January 25, 2025 at different locations
throughout the service area. The district will give away a
total of 1,500 free rain barrels to help our collective
residents save water and money, while reducing
stormwater runoff. Events will be held at the following
locations and may be attended by any qualified
resident within the West Basin Service Area. Registration
is highly recommended.
• Gardena, Saturday, December 7
• Lomita, Saturday, December 14
• Malibu, Saturday, January 11
• Rolling Hills Estates, Saturday, January 25
SPARK OF LOVE TOY DONATIONS
This year, the County of LA Fire Department, ABC7,
Toys for Tots, and Southern California Firefighters will
celebrate the 32nd Year of the Spark of Love Toy Drive.
This year, you can donate to Spark of Love by: dropping
off your new, unwrapped toys or sports equipment
at your local neighborhood fire station, texting the
word “SPARK” to 24365, or donating online at
https://Supportlafd.kindful.com/?campaign=1032876 to
donate via credit card. All proceeds go towards buying
toys or sports equipment for the children or bringing new,
unwrapped toys or sports equipment to the upcoming
Stuff-A-Bus-event at Los Cerritos Center in Cerritos on
December 6, 2024.
RHCA ANNUAL ASSESSMENT DUE
The first half of your annual assessment is due to the RHCA
on December 10, 2024. If you have not received your
statement or if you need to change your mailing address,
please contact the RHCA office at (310)544-6222 or

RHCA HOLIDAY HOURS
The RHCA office will be closing for the holidays from
Monday, December 23 at 12:00 noon and will re-open on
Thursday, January 2 at 7:45am.
