CL_NWS_250122_D2 CITY COUNCIL James Black, M.D. Bea Dieringer Leah Mirsch Jeff Pieper Patrick Wilson January 22, 2025 Issue No. 25-02 HIGH WINDS & THE INCREASED RISK OF FIRE Rolling Hills is a wildland-urban interface where homes and vegetation meet. The National Weather Service has reported concerning wind conditions recently and any fires that develop could have the high potential for rapid fire spread. Please be on alert and avoid activities that could generate sparks or open flames. CLEAR YOUR CANYON & PROTECT HOMES! Remember to maintain the appropriate clearance between structures and vegetation. The LA County Fire Department (LACFD) regulates the first 200 feet from structures in order to establish a defensible space. City Ordinance No. 375 requires the removal of dead trees and plants on the remainder of your property to help keep our community safe from the threat of wildfires. Residents may wish to consult with their gardener, arborist or tree service to assess trees and shrubs and for constructive clearance methods that avoid future erosion. For inquiries, please call LACFD at 310-377-1584. COMMUNAL BIN EVENT ENDS JANUARY 25 The City’s 8th communal bin event wraps up this weekend. So, remember to take advantage.
