COMPOST PAILS AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS
If you missed the recent compost workshop at City Hall,
here are a few quick takeaways to get you started:
• Mix greens & browns - Balance food scraps with dry
leaves or paper.
• Keep it moist - Compost should feel like a wrung-out
sponge.
• Turn often - Aerate every few days to speed things up.
• Skip these - No meat, dairy, bones, grains, or cooked
food.
• No plastics - Even compostable ones don’t break down
well at home.
Residents can request a free kitchen pail and compost
bin by calling 310-371-7222 or visiting
southbaycities.org/programs/waste.
BEAT THE HEAT THIS SUMMER AND STAY COOL!
As summer temperatures rise, remember to stay safe:
drink plenty of water, wear light clothing, and avoid the
outdoors during peak heat hours. If your home gets too
hot, cool off at Rolling Hills City Hall (open during business
hours) or local libraries like Peninsula Center, Malaga
Cove, and Miraleste. Stay cool and take care!

LET’S KEEP OUR TRAILS SAFE
Bicycles, motorized vehicles, and ATVs are strictly
prohibited on all RHCA bridle trails at all times. This policy
is designed to protect the safety of all trail users,
especially pedestrians and equestrians. Horses can be
easily startled, and the terrain can be hazardous, making
unexpected encounters dangerous. Please Remember:
• RHCA actively monitors trail cameras to ensure
compliance.
• Recent violations have been reported to gate
personnel and the Sheriff’s Department.
• City Ordinance 10.64.160 prohibits unauthorized motor
vehicles and bicycles on horseback riding trails,
including private trails like ours.
Let’s work together to keep our trails safe and enjoyable
for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation!
