To ensure accuracy, crimes that are still under active investigation may not appear in the City Blue Newsletters, which can result in a delay between when an incident occurs and when it is reflected in published reports. The LASD is committed to the safety of our community and acts swiftly whenever there is an immediate threat. If a crime is not reported, it may still be under investigation or involve an active victim. For questions about a specific incident, residents may contact the Sheriff’s non- emergency line at 310-539-1661. Please note that, for confidentiality reasons, not all details may be disclosed. Residents seeking additional crime data can visit the LASD Crime Stats Dashboard bit.ly/LASD-CrimeStats (Under the Transparency tab). While the information may be delayed, it is publicly accessible for review. BLOCK CAPTAIN VOLUNTEERS NEEDED The city is recruiting Block Captains to serve as neighborhood liaisons who promote preparedness, communication, and community engagement. We’re also looking for enthusiastic residents interested in taking on a leadership role as Block Captain Leaders. If you enjoy connecting with neighbors and want to help build a more resilient community, we’d love to hear from you. Please call City Hall at 310 377-1521. KEEP OUR WATERWAYS CLEAN THIS FALL As the weather cools and leaves begin to fall, it’s a good time to remember that everything that goes into our streets and gutters flows directly into local storm drains, untreated. You can help protect our hills and the environment by: • Sweeping up leaves and debris instead of using blowers or washing them into the gutter. • Checking your property’s drainage to ensure runoff stays on-site when it rains. • Keeping trash bins closed and yard waste contained. • Avoiding over-watering gardens and lawns.
