PLANNING PROJECTS PHISHING EMAIL SCAM The City has become aware of phishing scam emails falsely claiming to be from City staff regarding pending Planning Commission applications. The fake messages mimic official City correspondence and include references such as a “Zoning Case,” a property address, and instructions to “settle an attached invoice for the application approval fee.” This phishing email, from planning.rolling@usa.com, asks recipients to "reply" in order to receive an invoice. Please Note: This is not an official city email. All legitimate planning-related correspondence is sent from planning@cityofrh.net. Payments are processed via the city's third-party online payment portal, iWorQ Systems. To protect yourself: • Do not click on links or download attachments from suspicious emails. • Do not provide any personal, banking, or payment information via email. • Contact City Hall directly to verify any communications • Delete suspicious or unexpected emails or attachments. • Report scams to the City and your email service provider. Thank you for helping us keep the community safe. DECEMBER WATER CONSERVATION TIP Reduce or pause landscape irrigation after rainfall and cooler temperatures. Native and drought-tolerant plants typically require little to no supplemental watering in winter, and over-irrigation can lead to runoff, slope instability, and wasted water.
