CITY HALL CLOSED JANUARY 19
City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 19 in
observance of MLK Day.
HOLIDAY TRASH COLLECTION SCHEDULE
No pick-ups will occur on Monday, January 19 in
observance of MLK Day. Residents who normally have
trash collected on Monday will receive service on
Tuesday and Tuesday pickups will happen on
Wednesday.
CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING PROGRAM
December 26 through January 13
Place tree next to your green waste, with decorations
and stands removed. Republic will mulch and compost.
Flocked trees and trees coated with fire retardant will be
accepted. Please cut trees over six feet in half. Do not
place trees in plastic bags. Questions? Contact Republic

COMMUNAL BIN EVENT JANUARY 17-24
The City will hold its 10th Communal Bin Event at the four
locations below. The Communal Bin events are rotated
throughout the community to encourage residents to
remove excess vegetation and conduct fire abatement
activities from their properties.
The four locations are as follows:
1. Quail Ridge N. just north of Crest Road West (2 bins)
2. On the Corner of Crest Road W. and Quail Ridge N.
adjacent to 1 Crest Road W.
3. On Spur Lane just west of Cinchring Road on Cal
Water’s - Water Tank Property.
4. On Portuguese Bend Road across from 52 Portuguese
Bend on the west side of the street.

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS TO PARTICIPATE:
• Place all green waste inside the bins.
• Do not leave any debris outside the bins.
• Piles need to be kept free of rocks and dirt.
• Do not dump non-green waste materials.
• Do not dump construction materials.
• Do not overfill or leave green waste on the ground
adjacent to the bins if they are full. Republic will
replace bins.

AVAILABLE ONLINE
To help streamline services, the City can receiv e
electronic planning applications through its online portal:

Small projects such as reroofs, interior remodels, and
façade changes can be processed using the over-the-
counter application. Additions up to 999 square feet
affecting no more than 50% of the exterior walls may be
permitted administratively. An application for projects
that require discretionary approval through the Planning
Commission is also available. Please consult with staff
regarding the type of application and Planning fees.
There are no Planning fees for over-the-counter
applications and administrative reviews, however, fees
may be required by the building department and Rolling
Hills Community Association. For questions, email

asking residents to complete a Public Hazard Awareness
Survey. Your input on local hazards,
preparedness, and community priorities will
help guide future hazard-mitigation efforts
and ensure the plan reflects the needs of
Rolling Hills residents. Please take a few
