To support the community, the City will host a Zone 0 workshop. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON CLEARANCE GUIDELINES FOR TREE TRIMMING NEAR LINES SCE requires a minimum of 12 feet of clearance between tree branches and power lines in high fire risk areas. This clearance is maintained by trimming trees to ensure the required distance is never threatened. Tall trees, even if not within 12 feet, can still be considered a hazard if they are within striking distance of lines or if their branches or leaves could potentially blow into lines. SCE's vegetation management practices focus on ensuring a minimum of 12 feet of clearance between tree branches and power lines, especially in high fire risk areas . • Hazard Tree Management: SCE also manages hazard trees, which include dead or dying trees, dead parts of live trees, and unstable live trees within striking distance of power lines. • Pruning Practices: Pruning is typically performed on the sides of the tree that could encroach on power lines. Additional Safety Measures: SCE may also remove trees that cannot be safely pruned, top trees that grow directly under power line FIRE SERVICE DAY In recognition of Fire Service Day in LA County, residents are invited to show their appreciation for our local firefighters by dropping off a card, note of encouragement, or a small treat at Fire Station 56 during the month of May. This simple gesture is a meaningful way to thank the men and women who serve and protect the Rolling Hills community every day.
