CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills was called to ordex by Mayar Black at

Councilmember Dieringer moved that the City Council approve the items on the consent calendar as
presented. Mayor Pro Tem Wilson seconded the motion, which carried without objection.
CITY COUNCIL REORGANIZ;ATION
NOMINATION OF 2018-?_019 MAYOR
Councilmember Pieper naminated Mayor Pro Tem Wilson to serve as Mayor for the 2018-2019 term.
Councilmember Dieringer seconded the nomination. Hearing no further nomina.tions, Mayor Black
closed the nominations and declar�d Mayar Pro Tem Wilson Mayor by acclamation of the City Council.
Mayor Wilson assumed his chaix at the dais.

Councilmember Dieringer nominated Councilmember Mirsch to serve as Mayor Pxo Tem for the 2018-
2019 term. Councilmember Pieger seconded the noxzaixxat�on. Hearing no further nominations, Mayor
Wilson closed the nominations an.d declared Councilmember Mirsch Mayor Pro Tem by acclamation. of
the City Council.
Mayor Pro Tem Mirsch assutned r.er chair at the dais.

COMMENTS FROM OUTGOING MAYOR
Outgoing Mayor Black stated that it was a good year for the community and indicated that Measure B
was replaced with a new view preservation ardinance. He commented that he loaks farward to another
successful year and thanked the cammunity for their support.
Councilnaember Pieper, Councilmember Dieringer, Mayor Pra Tern Mirsch, and Mayor Wilson expressed
their appreciation to outgoing Mayor Black and thanked him for his leadership.

PRESENTATION TO MAYOR BLACK IN REC�GNlTION �F HIS SERVICE DURING HIS
2017-2018 TERM AS MAYOR.
Mayor Wilson presented a plaque to outgoing Mayor Black in appreciation of his service to the Ci4y.
Supervisor Hahn presente� a proclama.tion to outgoing Mayor Black and thanked him for his service and
leadership.
Supervisor Hahn also congratulated Mayor Wilson on his nomina,tian as Mayor of the City.
Andrew DeBlock, Senior Field Representa#ave, representing Assemblymember A1 Muratsuchi's Office,
congratulated Mayor Wilson on his appointment as Mayor of the Cxty.
Senior Field Representative DeBlock presentec� a certificate of recognition to outgoing Mayor Black in
recognition of his accomplishments during his service to the City.
ADJOURNMENT T�RECEPTIQN
The City Council adjourned to a brief receptian at 7:14 p.m.
The meeting was reconvened at 7:23 p.m.
Mayor Wilson thanked his mother and fami�y for their support and expressed his appreciation far their
help during his election campaign.
COMMISSION ITEMS
RESOLUTION NO. 2018-U4.A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNiNG COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF ROLLING HILLS GRANTING A SITE PLAN REVIEW AND VARIANCE TO
RECONSTRUCT AN EXISTING 5' HIGH, 112' L�NG RETAIlVING WALL WHICH
ENCROACHES INTO THE SIDE YARD SETBACK AND WHICH WOULD NOT AVERAGE
OUT TO 2 1/2 FEET, IN ZONING CASE NO. 938, AT 2910 PALOS VERDES DRIVE NORTH,
(LOT 993-3-RH} (WONG}. THE PROJECT IS CATEGORICALLY EXEMPT �ROM CEQA
REQUIREMENTS.
Mayor Wilson introduced the item and asked for staff's comments. Interim C�ty Manager Schwartz
presented the staff report.
Mayor Wilson called for public comment. Hearing nane,he closed the public comments.
Mayar Pro Tern Mirsch reported that she attended the site visit meeting and Plarining Cornmission
meeting perkaining to this rnatter.
Co�ncilmember Pieper moved that the City Council receive and file Planning Cornrnission Resol�tion
No. 2018-04 granting approval of the applicant's request in Zoning Case No. 938 at 2910 Palos Verdes
Drive North. Mayor Pro Tem Mirsch seconded the rnvtion,which carried without objection.

Councilmember Mirsch reported that she attended the Emergency Evacua.tion Planning Seminar for La�rge
Animals held on March 24, 2018 sponsored by Caballeros of Rolling Hills and the Palos Verdes
Peninsula Horsemen's Association..
Councilmember Dieringer invited the members of the community to attez�d an event honoring a"Woman
of Fersistence" Carol A. Adelkoff; CEO and Executive Director of 1736 Family Crisis Center, on April
30, 201 S from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Hearing no further busxness before the City Council, Mayor Wilson adjourned the meeting at 7:29 p.m. in

City Council scheduled to be held on Monday, April 9, 20�8 beginning at 7:04 p.m. in the City Council
