Dear Mr. Nealis:
JAN311992
ROLLING HILLS
This letter is a follow up to the letter dated January
8, 1992 that I sent you, to further explain the need to
import 500 yards of top soil.
When we originally started construction of the house we
could not foresee the need for this soil because we had not
selected a landscape architect or had a plan to refer to.
The landscape plan that you have approved was designed
to be hormonous with the previously approved structure, and
the addition of the top soil is an important part of this
plan.
The existing soils are not compatible for a meadow
area, in addition the planting that we will be doing there
will inhibit any erosion from this area.
We do not plan to increase the size of the pad already
established or raise the grade more than 36" in height.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Dear Mr. Nealis:
I am the owner of the residence under construction at
#7 Crest Road East. We are ready to begin work on the
landscaping; however, in order to execute the plan as
approved, we will need to import up to 500 cubic yards of
soil. I would very much appreciate your granting of this
exception, thus allowing the work to proceed.
Please feel free to contact me at (310) 519-9500 or my
contractor, Richard Kline, at 377-4452 should you have any
questions.

Cabana E1 Pool Relocation
Dear Committee Members:
Due to a potential landslide area at the North-West portion of
the site, structures in that area have to be relocated. We are
therefore submitting a revised site plan illustrating the cabana
and pool relocation.
The guest house remains as was originally approved. We hope this
change meets with your approval.

Extension Request
We are requesting a time extension for Mr. Johnson's approved
C.U.P. for a guest house. This extension is requested due to
the excessive length of time (approximately 6 months) necessary
for our plans to be reviewed by the Los Angeles County Department
of Building and Safety.
We would appreciate your consideration of the open -sided cabana,
as originally shown on the C.U.P. request, as a part of this
approval. As per the City Manager, Mr. Belanger, we have made
adjustments to the cabana design and have received approvals from
the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety and the Rolling
Hills Architectural Committee.
We would appreciate your immediate consideration of this request
as we are ready to begin construction.
