January 22, 1992 ‘•`8Y.-. City of Rolling Hills #2 Portuguese Bend Road Rolling Hills, CA 90274 Attention: Craig Nealis Dear Mr. Nealis: JAN311992 ROLLING HILLS This letter is a follow up to the letter dated January 8, 1992 that I sent you, to further explain the need to import 500 yards of top soil. When we originally started construction of the house we could not foresee the need for this soil because we had not selected a landscape architect or had a plan to refer to. The landscape plan that you have approved was designed to be hormonous with the previously approved structure, and the addition of the top soil is an important part of this plan. The existing soils are not compatible for a meadow area, in addition the planting that we will be doing there will inhibit any erosion from this area. We do not plan to increase the size of the pad already established or raise the grade more than 36" in height. Thank you for your attention to this matter. S Alan C. Johnson • • Alan C. We are ready to begin work on the landscaping; however, in order to execute the plan as approved, we will need to import up to 500 cubic yards of soil. I would very much appreciate your granting of this exception, thus allowing the work to proceed.
