NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission will conduct a field visit
on TUESDAY, October 15, 2013 at 7:30 a.m. to view a silhouette for a proposed
project at 12 Tohns Canyon Road in the following zoning case:
Zoning Case No. 845. Mr. Jack Smith, 12 Johns Canyon Road, (Lot 241-A-1MS),
Rolling Hills, CA. Request for a Site Plan Review and Conditional Use Permit for
grading and to construct a 1,200 square foot stable with 1,265 square foot corral
and a Variance to exceed the maximum permitted disturbance of the lot. The
project has been determined to be categorically exempt pursuant to the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
APPLICATIONS REQUIRED BY MUNICIPAL CODE: Chapter 17.46 - Site Plan
Review, Chapter 17.42 - Conditional Use Permit and Chapter 17.38 - Variances.
The Planning Commission held a public hearing on subject zoning case on
September 17, 2013 at which time the Commissioners heard a detailed presentation
of the proposal. The purpose of the field trip is to familiarize the members of the
Planning Commission and interested parties with the location, topography, size and
extent of the project.
Any person is welcome to review the subject applications and plans prior to the
public hearing at the City Hall Administration Building located at 2 Portuguese
Bend Road, Rolling Hills. We welcome your input. You may provide your
comments in writing to the Planning Department prior to the meeting or come to the
meeting and address the Planning Commission on this project.
If you challenge the approval or denial of these permit applications in court, you
may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public
hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the
Planning Commission at, or prior to, the public hearing.
Following the field trip the Planning Commission may continue to discuss this project at
their regular meeting to be held on the evening of the field trip, Tuesday, October 15, 2013
beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling
Hills, CA.
