Subject: Zoning Case No. 331
Dear Dr. Hemmat:
Enclosed for your information is a copy of Ordinance No. 215,
which was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting on June
22, 1987. The new ordinance sets forth the amendment to the Rolling
Hills Municipal Code pertaining to tennis courts, and repeals Urgency
Ordinance No. 51-U, which extended the moratorium on tennis courts
to July 28, 1987. Ordinance No. 215 will become effective on July
23, 1987.
The City Council has approved and accepted a staff
recommendation that your application for a Conditional Use Permit
for a tennis court be placed on the agenda for the next regular
meeting of the Planning Commission on Tuesday, July 21, 1987 at
7:30 p.m., subject to the condition that your application shall
be subject to the requirements set forth in Ordinance No. 215.
Please call this office if you have any questions.
Very truly,
1

Re: Zoning Case No. 331
Dear Dr. & Mrs. Hemmat:
At the Planning Commission's August 19, 1986 meeting, it
was determined by Chairman Roberts, that since there is a
Moratorium on the processing and construction of tennis courts,
it would not be appropriate to discuss your request for a
Conditional Use Permit for the construction of a tennis court.
At the present time, the Commission is in no position to render
a decision because of the Urgency Ordinance, and therefore, the
public hearing on Zoning Case No. 331 has been continued to the
next regular meeting. of the Planning Commission, on Tuesday,
September 16, 1986, at 7:30 p.m., in the City. Council Chambers,
#2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills, California.
On Monday, September 8, 1986, the City Council will be
considering the matter of letting. the Urgency Ordinance lapse
or extending it an additional 10.months, 15 days. At that
Public Hearing, public testimony will be taken by residents or
the community on the issue of. the Tennis Court Moratorium, both
pro and con. It is suggested that you plan to attend so that
you might be able to express your feelings regarding your
particular situation.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Sincerely,
Terrence L. Beler
