NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Planning Commission of the City of Rolling Hills
will hold a Public Hearing at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at the City Hall
Administration Building, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills, CA for the purpose of
receiving public input regarding the following amended project:
ZONING CASE NO. 847. Mr. Ken Johnson, 2 Middleridge Lane S.
(Lot 168-RH), Rolling Hills, CA. Request for a Site Plan Review to
construct a new house and Variances to encroach with a stable and corral
set aside area into the side yard setback and with a portion of the
residence into the rear setback. The residence encroachment will be within
the footprint of an existing encroachment. It has been determined that the
project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
APPLICATIONS REQUIRED BY MUNICIPAL CODE: Chapter 17.46 — Site Plan
Review and Chapter 17.38 — Variances.
The amendment consists of a request to demolish a portion of the house that is located
in the rear setback and reconstruct within the same footprint and to allow the set aside
area for stable and corral to encroach into a side setback. The Planning Commission
reviewed the original project at two previous public hearings and at a field trip to the
site. At the January 21, 2014 public hearing, the Commission may consider a Resolution
of Approval approving the request.
Any person is welcome to review. the subject application and plans prior to the public
hearing at the City Hall Administration Building located at 2 Portuguese Bend Road,
Rolling Hills, CA. We welcome your input. You may provide your comments in writing
to the Planning Department prior to the meeting or come to the meeting and address
the Planning Commission on this project.

The Planning Commissions schedule is to view two other properties beginning at
7:30 a.m. before visiting this site, therefore the exact time of the visit cannot be
established.
The Planning Commission held a public hearing on subject zoning case on November
19, 2013 at which time the Commissioners heard a detailed presentation of the
proposal. The purpose of the field trip is to familiarize the members of the Planning
Commission and interested parties with the location, topography, size and extent of
the project.
Any person is welcome to review the subject application and plans prior to the public
hearing at the City Hall Administration Building located at 2 Portuguese Bend Road,
Rolling Hills. We welcome your input. You may provide your comments in writing to
