ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9th
THE FIFTH ANNUAL ROLLING HILLS BLOODMOBILE WILL BE AT THE CITY'S
ADMINISTRATION BUILDING ON OCTOBER 9th, FROM 3:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.,
AS A PART OF THE CITY'S EMERGENCY AND DISASTER PROGRAM.
THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVED THE BLOOD BANK AND WITH THE GENEROUS
HELP OF THE WOMEN'S COMMUNITY CLUB OF ROLLING HILLS TAKING ON THE
RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONTACTING EACH RESIDENT, WE SHOULD MEET OUR GOAL.
THAT GOAL IS TO HAVE 45 DONORS. THE 2:45-7:30 P.M. TIME WAS CHOSEN
IN ORDER TO ACCOMMODATE OUR WORKING RESIDENTS WHO ARE UNAVAILABLE
DURING THE DAY. IF YOU NORMALLY DONATE TO ANOTHER GROUP, WILL YOU
SAVE THIS ONE PINT FOR YOUR COMMUNITY?
PLEASE CALL GINNY LEEUWENBURGH AT 831-4216 OR GLORIA FULD AT
377-4495 TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT, OR GIVE YOUR NAME TO THE WOMEN'S
CLUB REPRESENTATIVE. ANY HEALTHY PERSON FROM 17-66 WHO HAS NOT GIVEN
BLOOD WITHIN THE LAST TWO MONTHS MAY DONATE. REFRESHMENTS WILL BE
SERVED TO ALL DONORS. BABYSITTING WILL BE PROVIDED ON THE PATIO.
WHY BE AFFILIATED WITH RED CROSS? Because Red Cross is
striving to provide safe, voluntary donor blood at the
lowest possible service fee for everyone who may need it.
To do this, Red Cross must recruit 390,000 donors this year.
(1,500 every weekday).
WHY ARE SO MANY DONORS NEEDED? Because blood is so perishable.
Whole blood and red cells last only, 21 days, Platelets (the
part of blood needed for clotting) last only 72 hours. More
than 400 units of platelets are needed every day.
WE NEED YOUR BLOOD ON OCTOBER 9. THERE IS AN EXTREME BLOOD SHORTAGE.
PLEASE HELP US MEET THE GOAL
