Fours very truly, CITY 07 ROLLING HILLS PLANNING CO1TISSIOi MaryLouise Pourers Secretary cc/M. Friedman • 1734 SOUTH NEW AVENUE • SAN GABRIEL, CALIFORNIA July 26, 1962 Mr. and Mrs. Mark M. Friedman 11 Flying Mane Road Rolling Hills, California Dear Mr. and Mrs. Friedman: I am very sorry to hear of the problem you have encountered in regard to your swimming pool. About draining the pool: As you know, modern swimming pools are built with the idea in mind of their not having to be drained except for a possible acid bath in the event of serious stains on the pool wall. This situation occurs perhaps once every four to five years with normal pool care. As to the amount of water running into the street, this can be controlled by regulating the pump used to drain the pool so that the flow of water would be no more than that which would accompany a thundershower. I am sure that the neighbors would not have water running into their driveways as the result of draining your pool. As to the problem of the neighbor beneath your property, and his concern over rocks or debris falling onto his property, let me say that we have built hundreds of hillside pools and have never had any problem of this kind. The plans for the pool indicate that the closest the edge of the pool would come to the top of the bank would be Bt. I am sure this would allow us enough lee- way to insure that no rocks would fall down the embankment onto the adjacent neighbor's property. We are of course insured against such accidents. I hope this will help clear up this matter, and should you have any further questions, please call me. dially c :.
