230, Construct a tennis court with , CorrespondenceJune 5, 1979 To: Planning Commission From: Joan Saffo, 1 Crest Road Subject: Paul Lupo Zoning Case #230 Having just read the minutes of May 15th regarding Lupo's tennis court I am more opposed than ever.. Regretfully I cannot attend the meeting tonight, but I feel, after looking at the plans, there will be excessive dirt movement plus building far too much in the canyon. May 8, 1979 To: Planning Commission, City of Rolling Hills From: Joan and. Paul Saffo 1 Crest Road East Subject: Conditional use permit - Tennis court, Paul Lupo Regretfully, we must oppose the granting of a conditional use permit for a tennis court for Paul Lupo, 4 Georgeff Road. Reasons: 1) Highly visible from properties along Georgeff Road whose rear yards are along Georgeff Canyon...also from those properties along Portuguese Bend Road North - rear yards along Georgeff Trail. 2) Georgeff trail is.a lovely, natural canyon horse tr,ail.. the tennis court would be esthetically and environmentally -- visably unsightly for riders. 3) Suggestion: planning commissioners review the original Meyer subdivision. There was protest from adjacent property owners, because there would be 1) a flag. lot 2) building in the canyon 3) access flag driveway onto the curve of georgeff Road....4) questionable geology. At the time of the subdivision, Mrs. Meyer personally visited all of the concernedproperty owners...including the Donald Douglas' at 6 Crest Road. East. This property was important to Meyers because of the number of acres involved. Unfortunately, Mr. Meyer and Mr. Douglas had been business associates at one time and Mr. Douglas signed. Later, he confessed, he regretted that he signed it, as he went into more detailed study of subdivisions. I know this is "hearsay" and is no longer really relevant. The Suens who bought the Douglas property are currently in Hong Kong..are returning to London before coming to Rolling Hills in July. `Therefore, there is no time for them to review the question. Although, they may have given a power of attorney to an agent???
