Subject: Zoning Case No. 316.
Dear Dr. and Mrs. Hollingshead,
This letter is to serve as official notice, pursuant to Section
17.32.090 of the Rolling Hills Municipal Code, that a Variance for
Residence addition_projecting into sideyard setback were approved by
the Rolling Hills Planning Commission on Tuesday, June 18, 1985. A
formal report of the Planning Commission as required by Section 17.32.086
of the Municipal Code is contained in the minutes of the proceedings
before the Commission. A copy of the minutes are enclosed.
The Planning Commissions's action was reported to the City Council
at a regular meeting on Monday, June 24, 1985, pursuant to Section
17.32.140.of the Municipal Code. Since no action was taken by the
Council regarding the approvals, the decision of the Planning Commission
has been ratified by the City Council, and the Variance for construction
as shown on a plan submitted for Zoning Case No. 316 is approved.
An acceptance form as required by Ordinance No. 207 is enclosed.
When the Affidavit of Acceptance, duly executed and recorded, has been
returned to -the City, the Los Angeles County Department of Building
and Safety will be notified that building permits can be issued.

Relative to the 10' side yard setback approved for the garage
addition on the above property, the Association Building Reg-
ulations provide that eaves may not extend into a side yard
more than 21" for each 1' of the side yard setback. As the
approved setback is 10', the maximum eave projection is 25"
which has been shown on the roof plan to be 2'1"maximum.
The plan approved by the Planning Commission on June 18, 1985
conforms with the Building Regulations and has been approved
by the Architectural Committee.
