The City Council of the City of Rolling Hills will conduct a field inspection to
view a silhouette (outline) for a proposed project at 4:30 PM on THURSDAY,
FEBRUARY 6, 2003 regarding:
ZONING CASE NO. 653. Request for a site plan review and a conditional
use permit to construct a detached garage and a guesthouse; request for a
variance to permit encroachment of the proposed detached garage into the
side yard setback; and request for a variance to locate the guesthouse in the
rear yard area on a through lot at an existing single family residence in
Zoning Case No. 653 at 40 Eastfield Drive, (lot 91-EF), Rolling Hills, Ca. An
addition to the main residence, which does not require discretionary approval
and a future stable are also proposed, (Tonsich).
A public hearing on subject zoning case was held by the City Council on January
13, 2003 at which time the Council heard a detailed presentation of the proposal.
The purpose of the field trip is to familiarize the Council and interested parties
with the site, topography, size and placement of the proposed project. Although
plans will be available at the site, detailed review of the project is not anticipated,
as this case was first introduced to the City Council on January 13, 2003. The City
Council will not make a decision on this case during the field trip.
Any person is welcome to attend this field trip. You are urged to review the
application, plans and minutes of the previous City Council meeting on subject
application prior to the site visit. These and other pertinent documents are
available at the City Hall Administration Building located at 2 Portuguese Bend
Road, Rolling Hills, CA.
It is anticipated that the City Council will hold an additional public hearing
regarding Zoning Case No. 653 on Monday, February 10, 2003 at 7:30 PM., at
City Hall. Please reserve this date, as no other notices pertaining to this case will
be forthcoming.

The Planning Commission of the City of Rolling Hills will conduct a field

new structures at 40 Eastfield Drive on Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at 5:30
PM.
ZONING CASE NO. 653 — Site Plan review for substantial additions and
construction of a guesthouse and mixed use structure; Conditional Use
Permits to construct the guesthouse and a mixed use structure
(garage/exercise room); Variance to permit encroachment of the mixed
use structure into the side yard setback; and a Variance to permit
encroachment of the guesthouse into the rear yard setback.
A public hearing on subject zoning case was held by the Planning Commission
on August 20, 2002, at which time the Commission heard a detailed presentation
of the proposal. The purpose of the field trip is to familiarize the Commission
and interested parties with the topography, size and placement of the proposed
project, and to view the silhouette (outline) of the proposed structure. Although
plans will be available at the site, detailed review of the project is not anticipated.
Any person is welcome to attend this field trip. However, due to time constraint
during the field visit, extensive testimony and comments will be considered at
the regular Planning Commission public hearing, described below. You are
urged to review the application, plans and minutes of the 8/20/02 Planning
Commission meeting on subject application prior to the site visit. These and
other pertinent documents are available at the City Hall Administration Building
