The PLANNING COMMISSION of the City of Rolling Hills will conduct a field
visit on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 to view a proposed project at 0 Chestnut
Lane (VACANT LOT) in the following zoning case:
ZONING CASE NO. 734
Mr. and Mrs. Norm Meidl, (Lot 241-A-1-MS), Rolling Hills CA. Request
for a Site Plan Review for construction of a new single family residence
and request for a Variance to construct a swimming pool in the front yard
on a vacant parcel of land known as 0 Chestnut Lane.
The Planning Commission's schedule is to visit another property at 7:30 AM
and then proceed to subject site. Therefore, it is anticipated that the
Commission will arrive at this property at about 7:50-8:00 AM.
The Planning Commission held a public hearing on subject zoning case on
October 17, 2006, at which time the Planning Commission heard a detailed
presentation of the proposal. The purpose of the field trip is to familiarize the
Commissioners and interested parties with the location, topography, size and
extent of the proposed project.
Any person is welcome to attend this field trip and provide public testimony.
However, due to time constraint during the field visit, extensive testimony and
comments will be considered at the regular Planning Commission public hearing
described below. We urge you to review the application, plans and minutes of
the previous meeting on subject application prior to the site visit. These and
other pertinent documents are available at the City Hall Administration Building
located at 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills, CA.
The Planning Commission will continue to discuss and deliberate this case at their
regular meeting, which will be held on the same night as the field trip, Tuesday,
November 21, 2006, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Planning Commission of the City of
Rolling Hills will hold a Public Hearing at 6:30 PM on October 17, 2006 at the
City Hall Administration Building, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills, CA
for the purpose of receiving public input regarding the following:

The project has been determined to be categorically exempt pursuant to the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Any person is welcome to review the subject application and plans prior to the
public hearing at the City Hall Administration Building located at 2 Portuguese
Bend Road, Rolling Hills, CA. We welcome your input. You may provide your
comments in writing to the Planning Department prior to the meeting or come to
the meeting and address the Planning Commission on this project.
If you challenge the approval or denial of this permit application in court, you
may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the
public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to

This notice is to inform you that the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills at its
regular meeting of January 26, 2009 will consider a project by the property owners of 0
Chestnut Lane to construct a main sewer line in the Johns Canyon Road roadway
easement, from the corner of their property at Chestnut Lane and Johns Canyon Road to
connect to the existing manhole at Morgan Lane and Johns Canyon Road.
Pursuant to the terms of City Council Resolution No. 873. adopted on January 24, 2000, 0
Chestnut will not be annexed into the existing sewer district created in 1993 along
Morgan Lane, Chestnut Lane and Johns Canyon Road; consequently, no connection
charge will be paid for the connection of the new main sewer line to the existing line and
no reimbursement will be made to the property owners in the existing sewer district. It is
proposed that no other property will be permitted to connect to the new sewer line via a
lateral line without formation of a new reimbursement district and payment of a pro rata
share of the costs incurred by the owners of 0 Chestnut Lane. However, should property
owners in the vicinity construct a new main sewer line, the line will be permitted to
connect, without payment of a connection charge, to the line under consideration.
The City Council will consider adoption of a resolution memorializing these conditions at
its meeting described above. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers at City
Hall, beginning at 7:30 PM, at 2 Portuguese Bend Road Rolling Hills, Ca.
