358, Addition of a master bedroom , Staff ReportsItem 4a - 1 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF CITY COUNCIL FROM: CITY MANAGER SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION REPORT OF APPROVAL OF ZONING CASE NO. 358 RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council receive and accept the Planning Commission Report of Approval of Zoning Case No. 358, a request for a variance to encroach into the side yard setback requirement, at 19 Middleridge Lane North (Mr. and Mrs. Don Gales). BACKGROUND: On March 15, 1988, the Planning Commission unanimously approved Zoning Case No. 358, which is a request for an encroachment into the side yard setback requirement for the purpose of building an addition to the exisitng, at 19 Middleridge Lane North. The applicants in this zoning case are Mr. and Mrs. Don Gales. The property in this matter is located in the RAS-1 Zone. The minimum side yard setback requirement in the RAS-1 Zone is 20 feet from the property line. The Gales' requested an encroachment of six feet into the side yard setback. There were no comments in opposition to the variance request. The Planning Commission's approval of Zoning Case No. 358 was by unanimous vote (4 to 0).
