Has Construction Commenced? The reason for the import of soil is due to a combination of the erosion of on -site material and un-suitable on -site soils. The history of the project and the stop work order has led to there being an open excavation where the pool used to sit. With the excavation and slopes not planted, the heavy rains which occurred during the 2016-2017 wet season mobilized loose soil on site and it is no longer viable to recover on -site. IN addition to this, during excavations slope was soil was uncovered which is un-suitable as a fill material for this project. Due to the reasons outline above we request that 500 c.y. of soil be imported from an adjacent project in Rolling Hills. The proposed elevations of the pool and walls will not change from the approved plan, the imported soil will help to re -construct the approved lower slope which was removed during the previous pool demolition. Construction has not yet commenced, as there is still a stop work order on the site. A Grading Plan is currently in plan check with the County and is ready for approval pending final stamps and signatures.
