129, Construct a new tennis court r, Correspondence19 Eastfield Drive Rolling Hills , CA 90274 July 28,1992 Lola Unger, Principal Planner City of Rolling Hills 2 Portuguese Rend Rd. Rolling Hills,. CA 90274 Dear Ms. Unger: Thank you for your letter of July 17,1992 regarding the planting of shrubery to screen our tennis court. As we discussed by telephone, the court is well screened from the North and West sides of the court. In fact, six months ago we received a letter from the City Manager, thanking us for the development of the plantings around this court. However, there is a section of the court on the east side, which faces our home but is visible from Eastfield Drive, where the tennis court fencing is evident from the road. Per our phone discussion of July 20, I have had the low-lying shrubs Transplanted from beneath this section of the court. We have also moved the lilies in this area and have replaced both with oleander plants similar to those which have grown over the north and part of the eastern boundaries of the court. These should grow to provide adequate coverage of the fence now visible from Eastfield Drive as one proceeds toward the Eastfield gate. We trust that this lakes care of the Planning Commission's concerns. We very much appreciate your help in this matter. Sincerely yours, Phyllis Monroe Cannom PwI JUL 3 0 1992 CITY OF ROLLING HULLS svCd March 12,1975 Dr. Michael Barnett. 19 Eastfield Drive Rolling Hills, California . 90274 Dear Dr. and Mrs. Barnett, I was informed by Mrs. Barnett approximately -two weeks ago that all the plants_ in your landscape plan had been installed, which was a condition of the Conditional Use . Permit given to you by the City of Rolling Hills for your tennis court. As I gold Mrs. Barnett on the phone it would be necessary to have the property checked for compliance and that has now been done. We have been informed that the following plants are still missingfrom the property: -- one #202 15-gal. Malaleuca ,1.et cadendra- nine #139 5-gal. junipers paostrata four 1/86.5-gal. Verburnum suspensum one #119 15-gal. podacarpu's elongata (heavy) one ,r149 bignonya-has been -planted in - the wrong --location • • It is unfortunate that we must continue to insist that this landscaping plan be completed, but, as you may realize, the decision made for the placement of your tennis court on Eastfield has not been a particularly popular one and there is ..even more opportunity for a critical review by residents of the Board and Planning Commission's decision when we cannot enforce- the requirements placed on the permit. . I would hope that we.could satisfactorily conclude this matter without having to take it to the City Council and the Board of Directors for action as a violation of the Conditional Use Permit granted to you. Please let mehear from you as soon as possible re-. garding this matter.. •The Board's next meeting will be on March 20 and I hope I may be able to say that the requirements have been completed. The next action would be to bring it to the attention of the City Council on March 26 at .the'ir, next meeting. I hope this -will not become'necessary. • Sincerely, ___ Teena Clifton Manager TC:ab
