I am sorry I am tardy in:anawering your letter of
June 3rd regarding the financial assistance for the
removal of a utility pole on Buckboard Trail. Part of
my hesitation was because the city council was making
a budgetary decision as to whether to include funds
for undergrounding in the next fiscal year as they have
in -the current fiscal year. Their decision is to
delete the entire undergrounding line item from the
budget, however, if you can come to the city hall and
mark on a plan the location of this pole and indicate
from wham__y_ou received the rough_e.stimate for the pole
removal I can present the matter to the council at
their meeting on Monday, Ju`id-27-th:--11—the--planr—that
Tin present meets their criteria they may be willing to
authorize it that evening and it would still be able
to fit into the current year's budget. I had attempted
to reach you by telephone to get this information, but
was not successful so I am requesting it by letter.
I hope that this. will not inconvenience you to
come to the office and I will assist you in every way
possible to present your case to the council.
Sincerely,
Teena Clifton

Dear Sir,
Permit me to introduce myself as the owner of 7 Buckboard Lane.
Please consider this a request for financial assistance to remove
the utility pole that stands between riy lot and the house north of
it (-1 Buckboard Trail). Presently the utility pole is servicing
P1 Buc'•.,oard Trail with over head power lines. Should the pole be
removed, it will be necessary for the occupant of 1 Buckboard _Trail
to bury his resent overhead power lines. Since I an the sole initiator
of this plan and since 41 Buckboard Trail already has an existing _
power line, are there additional funds available to assist the occupant
of 4.1 :ucl-board to ?lace his power lines below ?round? (Funds
additional.to the $500.0n allowance for removal of utility pole.)
rough estimate for the removal of the utility pole is
$2 _10.0C ?: more accurate figure .will Le available when the bids
are b.,le Lv the contractors.
This request was prompted by Rolling Hills Newsletter 127C,
Jan_uar7 G, 1977, Item 4 a) Funds allocated by Edison for 1977
conversion of overhead facilities to underground and also funds
availa;ple for conversion of overhead facilities to underground
from City of Polling Hills.
A: rely at your convenience would he appreciated.
Thanking you, I an,
Sincerely,
Benjarnin J. Chau, M.D.
