Geologic Investigation of Proposed Recreation Room and Stable, #2 Outrider Road, Rolling Hills, California, by COAST GEOTECHNICAL, Inc., dated February 24, 2006. 2. Response to Geologic Review Sheet, for #2 Outrider Road, Rolling Hills, California, by Coast Geotechnical, Inc., dated July 19, 2006. 3. Response to Geologic Review Sheet, for #2 Outrider Road, Rolling Hills, California by Coast Geotechnical, Inc., dated April 17, 2008. 4. Geologic Progress Report for August 2007, dated September 18, 2007. 5. Geologic Progress Report for September 2007, dated October 6, 2007. Ms. Kim: This final as built geologic report for the referenced property has been prepared at your request and is a summary of periodic geologic observations made by Coast Geotechnical during construction of your project. PROPOSED GRADING The project consisted of the construction of level rear property areas with contour changes accomplished through slope construction, cuts, fills, and, retaining wall construction. Grading performed is depicted on a plan by Bolton Engineering dated revised 3/31/08 and has been utilized as the base map for presentation of site geologic data. GEOLOGIC OBSERVATIONS Geologic observations during grading were as follows: • As built geologic conditions are as shown on the appended As Built Geologic Map, Figure 1. Geologic conditions encountered were in accordance with those discussed in the referenced reports. Geologic conditions considered adverse to the proposed site improvements were not encountered. Mr. & Mrs. Kim 2 W.O. 303806-04 Final Geoloev Report November 5. 2008 ■ Keyway A, fill slope near pool, was excavated a minimum of two feet into bedrock at a depth of six to ten feet below original grade, with a width of about twelve feet. The exposed bedrock was judged to be competent and to exhibit favorable geologic structure. Section A -A, appended on Figure 2, shows as built conditions. • Keyway B, fill slope at rear of property, showed a minimum embedment of three feet into competent bedrock at a depth of five feet below original grade, with a width of about twelve feet. ■ The project soils engineer observed subdrain placement and monitored fill placement. • Periodic observation of grading found benches to be placed into competent bedrock material with favorable geologic structure. • Geologic data obtained during observation of site construction has been plotted on the enclosed As Built Geologic Map, Figure 1. ■ Construction of the MSE wall was under the observation of the soils engineer. DECLARATION FOR COMPLIANCE WITH BUILDING CODE SECTION 111 It is the opinion of the undersigned, a duly certified engineering geologist, based upon our work as outlined in this report and in those referenced by it, that outlined work was constructed in accordance with our recommendations and that if properly maintained, (1) the proposed grading will be safe against hazard from landslide, settlement, or slippage, and that (2) the proposed building or grading construction will have no adverse effect on the geologic stability of property outside of the building site. The nature and extent of observations conducted for purposed of this declaration are, in the opinion of the undersigned, in conformance with generally accepted practice in the area. Finding and statements of professional opinion do not constitute a guarantee or warranty, expressed or implied. We appreciate this opportunity to be of service to you.
