SUBJECT: PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY MEASURES REQUIRED FOR HORSE
EXCREMENT DISPOSAL AT 15 EASTFIELD DRIVE (LOT 52-EF)
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Gordon:
With regard to our telephone conversation on November 14, 1995, regarding the
accumulation of horse manure at your property, this letter is to apprise you of the
City of Rolling Hills' requirements for the storage and disposal of horse manure.
According to Section 6.40.060 of the Rolling Hills Municipal Code, horse excrement
must be removed daily and collected once a week. The City's refuse contractor, BFI,
provides a service to residents whereby sealed bags or covered containers of manure
are picked up along with other solid waste containers at the rate of $22.50 per horse
per month. You may call BFI Customer Service at 329-4115 to begin service.
Please contact this office within the next ten days (bv November 24. 1995) to inform
us of any planned action regarding the cleanup of the accumulated horse manure at
your property.
Feel free to call me at (310) 377-1521 if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
LOLA M. UNGAR
