The existing on -site piled fill soil was generated from over -excavation at the subject site. This fill soil consisted of a silty clay and abundant bedrock fragments with high moisture content. Moisture content of the clayey soil was approximately 41 % high (suitable moisture content should be between $6 to 34%) after drying for one week. The on -she wet soil may take additional 3 to 4 weeks to dry excess moisture out. Over -excavation, approximately 5 to 6 feet deep, was performed in the slab area bf the proposed residential building. Once rain comes, this over -excavation area will be filled with water and the fill grading will almost be impossible to properly complete within months. In additional, ontc the wet soli soaked with additional water, the wet soil will need more time to dry excess moisture out. Therefore, it Is practical to import drier soil from outside to mix with the on -site wet sail in order to obtain the Jill material with an adequate moisture content to complete the fill grading at the subject site. It is our understanding that this import is intern to complete the fill grading. It is not inteett to ineirease tbotage of the proposed residential building. Thank you for this opportunity to be of service. If you have any questions regarding this letter, please contact the undersigned at the letterhestd location. TSCL:ir No. 44ws CIVIL.
