NEALIS, CITY MANAGER SUBJECT: CONSIDERATION OF RECOMMENDATION FROM THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION RELATIVE TO NEW DRIVEWAY ACCESS AT 2 WILLIAMSBURG LANE. DATE: JUNE 12, 1995 BACKGROUND At the regular meeting of the Rolling Hills Traffic Commission held May 25, 1995, Commissioners unanimously agreed to recommend approval of the modifications of the residential driveway at this location. The applicants are requesting to reduce their 46 foot wide curb cut to 24 feet extending approximately 11 feet in an easterly direction from its original location. A copy of the correspondence which was directed to the applicant regarding this request as well as the original Commission staff report are attached. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that members of the City Council approve this recommendation of the Traffic Commission relative to this driveway modification. Date: 5/25/95 TO: HONORABLE CHAIR AND MEMBERS OF THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION FROM: CRAIG R. NEALIS, CITY MANAGER SUBJECT: CONSIDERATION OF NEW DRIVEWAY ACCESS AT 1 WILLIAMSBURG LANE. DATE: MAY 25,1995 Attached to this staff report are plans depicting a slight modification to the driveway access at 1 Williamsburg Lane. Currently, the driveway access appears established at 46 feet in width. The applicants are requesting to reduce this to a 24 foot cut extending approximately 11 feet in an easterly direction. The driveway itself will be varying in widths between 21 and 30 feet. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that members of the Traffic Commission consider this report and, if necessary, conduct a field trip to the location to consider a recommendation for City Council consideration. This recommendation will be presented to the City Council for formal consideration at their regular meeting to be held on Monday, June 12, 1995 beginning at 7:30 p.m., in the Rolling Hills City Council Chambers. The Traffic Commission recommendation will include a requirement that the site visibility for vehicles exiting the driveway shall not be impaired for a distance of 10 feet inward from the street.
