It has come to my attention that you had stored construction equipment and other items
on the vacant lot at 80 Saddleback Road. Pursuant to Section 17.16.190 G of the City of
Rolling Hills Municipal Code, (copy enclosed), storage of any kind is prohibited on
undeveloped lots. Therefore, please immediately remove all of the construction material,
equipment, mobile modular units and all other debris from the property.
I will visit the property on Apri115, 2014 to verify compliance.
In addition, clearing of vegetation, grubbing, grading or any other activity is not
permitted on the lot without prior approval from the City.
As I indicated to your representatives for the proposed subdivision in the past, all
vegetation must remain on site until, at your expense, a biological study is conducted for
the area to determine if any native, endangered or sensitive plants or animals are/were
present and a plan developed for their relocation or replanting, if plants. The study
must take into consideration the grading for the proposed home sites.
I would also like to take this opportunity to suggest that you contact the Rolling Hills
Community Association and obtain their preliminary approval of the subdivision, as
their approval requires endorsement of subdivisions by the adjacent property owners.
To my knowledge, at least one property owner along Saddleback Road expressed
objection to the proposed three lot subdivision.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 310 377-1521.

Re: Construction and Demolition Waste Permit #236 (80 Saddleback Road)
Dear Mr. Lopez,
The City of Rolling Hills has issued a Probationary Construction & Demolition Waste Hauling
Permit to Alexander Demolition for construction and demolition waste generated at 80 Saddleback
Road. With issuance of the permit and your commitment and cooperation, we look forward to
accomplishing the recycling and diversion goals that the permit is intended to achieve.
Please be mindful that quarterly and/or within thirty (30) calendar days following the completion of
the construction project for which your permit is issued, you are required to submit documentation to
the City of Rolling Hills demonstrating that at least 50% of the construction and demolition waste
generated from the project is not disposed at a landfill.
Enclosed you will find a "Recycling and Waste Reduction Compliance Report" for you to document
the disposal of your construction and demolition waste. The form must be supported and accompanied
by originals or photocopies of receipts, weight tickets, invoices or other records of measurement from
recycling companies, the landfill and/or disposal companies. If the project takes more than three (3)
months, this form must be submitted quarterly, in May, August and November. Additional forms
can be obtained at City Hall or on the City's Web site at www.Rolling-Hills.org.
Please be aware that your permit will expire on January 21, 2014 at which time a new permit will be
required. If the conditions of the permit are not followed, the permit will be revoked.
Recycling is important not just for extending the usefulness of landfills; it is valuable for sustaining the
environment. Again, thank you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call City Hall at
310-377-1521.
Sincerely,

With the recent fire in Rolling Hills and the continuing dry and hot weather
conditions in this area, it is very timely to minimize fire hazards and undertake fire
prevention measures.
It appears that there are dead trees and brush on your property. There is vegetation
that is visible from the road, as well as vegetation that has been called to our
attention by a neighbor, that could easily ignite when there is a fire. This dead
vegetation along with the dense growth on your property is a danger to you as well
as your neighbors.
It is requested that you inspect the trees and brush on your property, promptly
remove the dead material and reduce the fire fuel.
I would be pleased to meet or talk with you if you have any questions. I can be
contacted at (310) 377-1521. Your cooperation is appreciated.
Thank you.
