First, Commissioners have requested that the California Water Service Company fire plug on Lower Blackwater Canyon be affixed with reflective striping devices to alert motorists to its presence. Secondly, it appears that the city's contractor who were replacing the reflectors in the middle of the roadway failed to complete this task on portions of Lower Blackwater Canyon Road. The contractor has been alerted to this situation and will take immediate action. Striping of this roadway, as well as other roadways in the community was scheduled to be completed during the first week of March, 1992, and will be completed as soon as weather permits. Regarding the placement of road reflectors and additional striping on the portion of the roadway which lies in front of your residence, we have been advised by the Rolling Hills Community Association that this portion of the roadway is a private driveway. Therefore, it is not under the control of the Traffic Commission. Should you wish to be placed in contact with the city's contract road striping service, please do not hesitate to contact this office. We will be more than happy to help you coordinate the striping you desire. Because a portion of the road is your own private driveway, you are free to stripe or have reflectors placed in any way you desire, however, this must be completed at your own expense. • • March 4, 1992 Mr. Howard Long Page Two Should you wish to discuss this issue further, please do not hesitate to call.
