We have not heard from you in some time regarding the illegal structures built
on your property and our request for you to contact this office to apply for
proper permits.
Since our letter of July 9, 1993 (attached), we met with your representatives, Mr.
Douglas McHattie and Mr. Bill Howe, and concluded that an illegally constructed
stable building was sited within the western easement of your property at 2
Possum Ridge Road. We have also spoken to you and notified you that illegal
structures have been constructed on your property at 2 Possum Ridge Road
without a building permit and that a "stop work order" was issued by the
County Building Inspector on July 6, 1993.
You are once again, formally requested to contact this office and apply for a
Variance (form enclosed) for the illegally constructed stable structures that are
less than 25 feet from the property line or remove the illegal structures within
the next twenty days.
We urge you to reconsider and initiate the Variance permit process as required
by every property owner as described in the Municipal Code by December 20.
1993 or we will have no alternative but, to pursue prosecution with the District
Attorney.

SUBJECT: ZONING VIOLATION AT 2 POSSUM RIDGE ROAD
Dear Mr. Cronin:
The City has been notified that illegal structures have been constructed on your
property at 2 Possum Ridge Road without a building permit and that a "stop
work order" was issued by the County Building Inspector on July 6, 1993.
Section 301.(a) Permits Required of the Uniform Building Code states that, "No
person, firm or corporation shall erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, remove,
connect or demolish any building, structure, or automatic fire extinguishing
system regulated by Chapter 38, or perform any grading or cause the same to
be done, without first obtaining a separate permit for each such building,
structure, automatic fire -extinguishing system, or grading from the building
official."
Section 17.16.040(A)(7) of the Rolling Hills Municipal Code requires a Conditional
Use Permit for a Mixed Use Structure subject to special conditions.
You are formally requested to contact this office and apply for proper permits
or remove the illegal structures within the next twenty days.
If we do not receive a response from you within that period, we have no
alternative but to forward the case to the District Attorney for appropriate
action.
