1. Provide two original, bound, wet signed and wet stamped reports dated 3/17/10. The submitted reports were not signed and therefore are not
considered valid. All reports greater than ten pages must be bound. Please note stapled reports greater than ten pages will be retumed without
GMED review.
2. Address whether any structures will be constructed to retain the existing fill soils beneath the existing residence. Address potential settlement and
potential effects to the existing residence if fiil soils continue to fail down slope and between the proposed piles. Provide mitigation measures as
necessary.
3. Address differential settlement/expansion between the proposed pile foundations and existing foundations considering the high expansion potential
of the existing fill material and the embedment of pile foundations into bedrock. Provide mitigation measures as necessary.
4. Clarify the depth of embedment into competent materials for the proposed pile foundations. Verify that the proposed depth of pile will meet or
exceed Los Angeles County setback requirement in the competent embedment material. Per County policy, surficial materials with surficial factor
of safety Less than 1.50 shall not be considered as a part of the setback distance. Provide pile schedule on the building plans. Show and specify
depth of proposed piles on the building plans.
6. Provide revised geotechnical maps and cross sections at 40-scale. •
6. The soils report shall contain a finding regarding the safety of the building development against hazard from future landsliding, sett
slippage and a finding regarding the effect that the proposed building or grading construction will have on the geologic stability of pro
of the building site. The finding must be substantiated by appropriate data and analysis.
