Address potential settlement and potential effects to the existing residence if fiil soils continue to fail down slope and between the proposed piles. Provide mitigation measures as necessary. 3. Address differential settlement/expansion between the proposed pile foundations and existing foundations considering the high expansion potential of the existing fill material and the embedment of pile foundations into bedrock. Provide mitigation measures as necessary. 4. Clarify the depth of embedment into competent materials for the proposed pile foundations. Verify that the proposed depth of pile will meet or exceed Los Angeles County setback requirement in the competent embedment material. Per County policy, surficial materials with surficial factor of safety Less than 1.50 shall not be considered as a part of the setback distance. Provide pile schedule on the building plans. Show and specify depth of proposed piles on the building plans. 6. Provide revised geotechnical maps and cross sections at 40-scale. • 6.
