Planning Commission
City of Rolling Hills
Rolling Hills, CA 90274
Dear Commissioners,
I reside at 85 Saddleback Road, Rolling Hills, which I purchased
in.1968. I am fortunate to be the second owner of this residence
which had been the home of the Falconer family since 1937. Mr.
Falconer, one of the first residents of the community, acquired
this choice 5.5-acre site on which he had constructed his family
home.
It is my desire to remodel this fine old residence, increasing
the living area and providing for more enclosed, covered garage
parking for my family's numerous vehicles. As part of this pro-
cess, I have retained an architect who has prepared plans and
submitted them to the Homes' Association. Today I personally
reviewed these plans with June Cunningham of the City's offices
and we discussed whether a planning action was necessary for me
to proceed with the permit process.
After reviewing the City's zoning ordinances, there is still a
question in my mind unresolved whether it is necessary to submit
an application for a front yard setback variance. I respectfully
request that at the next regular Planning Commission meeting on
the 21st of February I be permitted to address the issue to.the
Commission for a clarification of whether the ordinance does con-
tain provisions requiring a variance.
Very truly .yours,
i
