Kristen Raig, Manager
Rolling Hills Community Association
1 Portuguese Bend Road
Rolling Hills, CA 90274
Dear Ms. Raig,
The City of Rolling Hills has no objection with the Rolling Hills Community
Association's intent to install solar panels to the building it leases from the City.
However, the Association needs follow all the rules and regulations associated
with the City's Planning, Zoning and Building and Safety Codes. Also, it is the
City's desire that you place the panels furthest from the view of the public —
preferably the roof on the north side of the building or on the roof on the
southeast corner near the field crew garage. Furthermore, we would like the
Association to pick solar panels with a material that best matches the color of the
existing roof and install them as flush to roof as possible.
It is not believed that installing a solar panel system on the building would need
a revised lease.
The City appreciates that the RHCA is attempting to reduce the City's carbon
footprint by installing a green technology building technique. Please let the City
staff know if it needs any assistance with the planning approval process. We
wish you a successful project and look forward to its completion.
Sincerely,
Raymond R. Cruz
City Manager
