NOTICE OF ORDER
Evidence and testimony concerning the condition of the property at, the
address listed below has been presented to the City of Rolling Hills
Building Rehabilitation Appeals Board.
The Board confirmed the City Building Official's finding that the
property is substandard and ordered
1. The dilapidated portion of the dwelling demolished above the slabs
and foundation, cap waste lines, and remove all debris from the
site by November 24, 1986.
2. Disconnect utilities (gas, electric and water) as necessary to
implement the demolition.
3. Renovate the exposed east wall for code compliance as an exterior
wall.
The owner may reconnect the utilities after any necessary repair work
has been approved by the Building and Safety Division.
Failure to comply with the Board Order may result in the necessary
demolition, removal, or other work being done by the City of Rolling Hills
without further notice to you.
In the event it is necessary for the City to take such action, all costs
incurred will be charged against the property. This will include
processing fees of approximately $1,155 in addition to the actual cost of
demolition or removal. The completion date shown below was established by Board Order es a
deadline for compliance. If the work is not completed, but reasonable
progress has been made, you may request an extension of time. Direct
your request in writing at least 10 days prior to the completion date to
the City of Rolling Hills Building Rehabilitation Appeals Board, 532 South
Vermont Avenue, Room 108, Los Angeles, California 90020-1998. Please
include the hearing date, property address, and the hearing number. If a
rehearing is necessary, a rehearing tee of $ 600.00 must be paid.

A recent inspection of the above structure found it to be substandard ai
defined by the City of Bolling hills building Code, due to extensive
.dilapidation, disrepair, and/or fire ,damage. The structure is open and
accessible to children and others. It exists as 2 fire hazard and a
threat to public safety and welfare.
Section 9906 of the Code declares all such substandarcbuildings a public
nuisance and requires the abatement thereof.
Due to the nature and extent of the defects, it does not appear practical
to repair the structure to comply with minimum standards.. Therefore, as
the owner of record, you are hereby notified to complete csec.olition of
the structure within 3C days after you receive :.his letter. Demolition
includes the removal of all foundations, slabs, debris and the proper
abandonment of any sewer or sewage disposal system.

Inspection of the 7renises on March 15, 19B5, indicates
land movement continues to creep unabated slowly but steadily
downhill.
The upper embankment has forced itself against the rear
corner of the house ge`^erat:: ng _.lte_'na1 stresses within the
dwelling that is gradually destroying the rear half of the
structure. This :.action of the house is unsafe to enter.
However, with this type of light wood frz:r'.e ctir:P r...:' _.., an
abrupt structural failure or collapse i s not anticipated; only
a slow process of gradual self destruction as the steady

As stated in a:: earlier report dated June 4, 1984, the

center of the house. Dr. Kelly has proceeded to cut the
ti ouse into two sections along the same plane to prevent the
faster sliding rear half from destroying the front half.
