none, Special use permit #3 for temp, Staff ReportsSeptember 19, 1985
TO: City Council
FROM: Thomas A. Devereux, City Manager
SUBJECT: Mrs. France Raine Jr., 71 Portuguese Bend Road, for permission
to place a trailer on property temporarily
BACKGROUND
Mrs. Paine came to City Hall to inquire about procedures for
placing a house trailer on ner property temporarily during rehabilita-
tion of her home in the Flying Triangle, and was given a copy of the
form developed by the City Attorney and adopted by the City Council.
Mrs. Raine attended the Planning Commission meeting on
September 17 and submitted.a plot plan for her property. She explained
that it will be necessary for her family to vacate the house for about
three months while it is being rehabilitated using a "jacking -up" pro-
cedure similar to that used on the Hartwig property at 3 Pinto Road.
Mrs. Raine showed the approximate location for the trailer and said
her contractor had advised that the trailer could be hooked into the
existing septic tank, and she confirmed that approval of her request
for a temporary trailer 12' x 50'.would not result in an additional
burden on the septic facilities, since there would not be any addit-
ional occupants on the property.
The Planning Commission approved the request for an initial
period of six (6) months, with a provision that the applicant can re-
quest extensions in increments of two (2) months, for a maximum of
one year, subject to a requirement that Mrs. Raine provide the City
staff with 6 copies of the site plan showing the location of the
temporary trailer, and that the necessary waivers be filed with the
County of Los Angeles.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Planning Commission has recommended approval. of the re-
quest subject to conditions specified so that work can commence at
the earliest opportunity.
