Dear Francesca and Barton,
MAR 0 4 2008
CITY OF ROLLING HILLS
Sometime ago we brought to your attention that some of your trees were
infringing upon our view. At that time we asked Barton if it was possible
for us to trim you trees, at our cost, not only to keep our view but to allow us
to maintain our property value. The trees in question are your Carrotwood,
Pepper and two pines.
After consulting with the Arbor Care Company, they felt it would be safe to
shape and bring down the crown or height of the obstructing trees to ensure
the view. This was to be a minimal amount at that time and not a radical
procedure, several feet. The Pepper and two Pine trees create a dense line
where only diminishing the height will allow a view.
You were kind enough to lace out your trees but would not permit a height
reduction. Unfortunately, this does nothing to help protect our view.
Again we would like to request some reduction in the height of your trees.
We will be happy to pay for the trimming. It seems this would be of little
consequence to the integrity of your trees or the well being of your
environment.
Thank you for your consideration. Please kindly contact us as soon as
possible. 310-377-7423.

At the regular City Council meeting held Monday, November 8, 1993, City Councilmembers
directed staff to continue the public hearings scheduled for Zoning Case No. 480 (WACHS),
6 Outrider Road and Zoning Case No. 497 (HOWROYD), 7 Maverick Lane beyond the
originally scheduled field trip date of Saturday, November 13, 1993. Although technically
we will still need to advertise that adjourned public hearing field trip for Saturday,
November 13, 1993, a quorum of members of the City Council will not be present and,
therefore, these hearings will be continued to the regular City Council meeting to be held
Monday, November 22, 1993 with the intent of selecting a new field trip date at that time.
Please communicate any suggestions to this office prior to November 17, 1993 as to what
dates would be most acceptable following the Thanksgiving Holiday to conduct these field
trips.
Your cooperation has been appreciated. Should you wish to discuss this further, please do
not hesitate to call.

Regarding: Scheduled field trips for..Howroyd and Wachs appeals,
Dear Mayor Murdock,
I realize that it is difficult to choose a field trip date taking into account all 5 members of the city
council. Unfortunately, I have a conflict ,that I can not reschedule. My family has the weekend of
November 13th planned to celebrate ; thanksgiving out of , town with my sisters. It : would be
impossible for me to attend the field trip and be with my family.`
I have spoken with both the Howroyd's and the Wach's on this matter. They have no objections to
rescheduling the field trip for a date after thanksgiving. May I also suggest the possibility of an early
morning weekday field trip:
