11/5/19921 MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA NOVEMBER 5, 1992 A' Regular Adjourned Meeting of the City Council of The City of Rolling Hills was called to order by Mayor Swanson at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 1992 at #2 Pinto Road, Rolling Hills California. ROLL CALL Councilmembers present: Leeuwenburgh, Pernell, Mayor Pro Tem Murdock and Mayor Swanson. Councilmember absent: Heinsheimer (excused). Others present: Craig R. Nealis, City Manager. Lola Ungar, Principal Planner. Arthur Keene, Consulting Geologist. Charlie Raine, #2 Pinto Road. PUBLIC HEARINGS - Continued A. CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING OF CONSIDERATION OF NUISANCE ABATEMENT AT 62 PORTUGUESE BEND ROAD (LOT 34 -FT). OWNERS: MR. AND MRS. EVANS. Members of the Rolling Hills City Council and others in attendance inspected the property at #2 Portuguese Bend Road as it pertains to an alleged nuisance at 62 Portuguese Bend Road (Lot 34 -FT). Those in attendance also observed the existing structural foundation and debris located on the lot at 62 Portuguese Bend Road. Consulting Geologist Arthur Keene indicated that the foundations at 62 Portuguese Bend Road posed no danger to the structural improvements on #2 Pinto Road. Further commenting, Mr. Keene expressed that the remaining foundation at 62 Portuguese Bend Road would continue to move with the slide in an easterly direction, eventually coming to rest in the canyon. Discussion regarding the movement of the slides in the Flying Triangle Area and location of fissures were discussed by those in attendance. Councilmember Pernell suggested that Charley Raine, owner, #2 Pinto Road, talk to other residents in the area who may also be interested in removing the slab at their own expense. Following discussion, Consulting Geologist, Arthur Keene . suggested that the debris could be removed from 62 Portuguese Bend Road and that the foundation could be covered with soil from the site. Mr. Keene suggested leaving as many trees as possible during this excavation. Mr. Keene expressed the opinion that a certified civil engineer would need to study the amount of soil available on the site to determine the feasibility of this possible recommendation. Following discussion, the Public Hearing was continued to the Regular City Council meeting to be held Monday, November 23, 1992 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rolling Hills City Council Chambers, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the Regular Adjourned Meeting was adjourned to Monday, November 9, 1992 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rolling Hills City Council Chambers, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills, California.
