DECEMBER 11, 1993
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills was called to order
by Mayor Murdock at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 1993, at 6 Outrider Road, Rolling Hills,
California.
ROLL CALL
Councilmembers Present: Heinsheimer, Pernell, Swanson, Mayor Pro Tem Leeuwenburgh
and Mayor Murdock.
Others Present: Craig R. Nealis, City Manager.
Lola Ungar, Principal Planner.
Joe Cardella, representing Architect Criss Gunderson.
Dr. and Mrs. Barton Wachs.
PUBLIC HEARINGS - CONTINUED
A. ZONING CASE NO. 480
DR. AND MRS. BARTON WACHS, 6 OUTRIDER ROAD (LOT 72 -A -EF)
AN APPEAL OF A PLANNING COMMISSION DENIED REQUEST FOR A
VARIANCE TO PERMIT THE ENCROACHMENT OF A BATHROOM
ALCOVE AND MASTER BEDROOM ADDITION INTO THE SIDE YARD
SETBACK AT AN EXISTING SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE IN ZONING
CASE NO. 480.
Members of the City Council and others in attendance inspected the property at 6 Outrider Road
as it pertains to the above referenced case. Staff was directed to report to the architect that the
vicinity map was in error as it relates to properties adjacent to the subject lot. Following review
and brief testimony, the public hearing was continued to the regular City Council meeting to be
held Monday, January 10, 1994, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rolling Hills City Council Chambers, 2
Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills.
Members of the City Council left this location for the second field trip at 7 Maverick Lane at
approximately 9:45 a.m.
B. ZONING CASE NO. 497
MR. AND MRS. BERNARD HOWROYD, 7 MAVERICK LANE (LOT 28 -SK)
AN APPEAL OF A PLANNING COMMISSION DENIED REQUEST FOR A
VARIANCE TO CONSTRUCT A GARAGE IN THE SIDE YARD SETBACK IN
ZONING CASE NO. 497.
City Manager Nealis provided the staff report for those in attendance regarding the history of the
application on this property and the appeal currently pending before the City Council. Dr.
Howroyd was in attendance and represented himself at the hearing. Those in attendance inspected
the property as it relates to the above referenced appeal.
Following discussion, the public hearing was continued to the regular City Council meeting to be
held Monday, January 10, 1994 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rolling Hills City Council Chambers, 2
Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills.
