CALL TO ORDER
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills was called to
order by Mayor Murdock at 7:31 a.m., at 50 Eastfield Drive, Rolling Hills, California.
ROLL CALL
Councilmembers Present: Heinsheimer, Hill, Pernell, Mayor Pro Tem Lay and
Mayor Murdock.
Councilmembers Absent: None.
Others Present: Craig R. Nealis, City Manager.
Lola Ungar, Principal Planner.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ferris.
PUBLIC HEARINGS
ZONING CASE 540, AN APPEAL OF A PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVAL OF
A REQUEST FOR A VARIANCE TO CONSTRUCT A 3 -CAR GARAGE THAT WILL
ENCROACH INTO THE FRONT YARD SETBACK, A REQUEST FOR A
VARIANCE TO CONSTRUCT THE SAME GARAGE THAT WILL ENCROACH
INTO THE SIDE YARD SETBACK, A. REQUEST FOR A VARIANCE TO EXCEED
THE MAXIMUM DISTURBED AREA TO CONSTRUCT SUBSTANTIAL
ADDITIONS, A REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT
A GUEST HOUSE AND A REQUEST FOR SITE PLAN REVIEW TO CONSTRUCT
SUBSTANTIAL ADDITIONS AND A GUEST HOUSE AT AN EXISTING SINGLE
FAMILY RESIDENCE.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ferris, 50 Eastfield Drive (Lot 99 -EF)
City Councilmembers observed the flagged staking for the encroachment into the front
yard and side yard setback for the proposed three car garage in conjunction with the zoning
case. City Councilmembers observed the new driveway configuration as well as other
residential improvements on the property.
Following discussion, a motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Allen Lay, which was
seconded by Councilmember Frank Hill, to direct staff to prepare a Resolution of Approval
for Zoning Case No. 540 for consideration at the adjourned regular meeting of the City
Council to be held on Tuesday, December 17, 1996. The public hearing was continued to
that date for consideration of this Resolution.
NEW BUSINESS
NOTIFICATION THAT THERE ARE NOT MORE CANDIDATES THAN OFFICES
TO BE ELECTED FOR THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION SCHEDULED FOR
MARCH 4, 1997 AND CITY CLERKS CERTIFICATION THAT THERE ARE NOT
MORE CANDIDATES THAN OFFICES TO BE ELECTED.
Hearing no objection, Mayor Jody Murdock ordered that this notification be received and
filed.

Hearing no further business before the City Council, Mayor Murdock adjourned the
