CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills was called to order by Mayor
Pernell at 8:30 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 2 Portuguese Bend Road,
Rolling Hills, California.
ROLL CALL
Councilmembers Present: Hill, Lay, Mayor Pro Tem Murdock and Mayor Pernell.
Councilmembers Absent: Heinsheimer (excused).
Others Present: Craig R. Nealis, City Manager.
Lola Ungar, Planning Director.
Yolanta Schwartz, Principal Planner.
Beverly Pernell.
NEW BUSINESS
RESOLUTION NO. 895: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT TO THE
OFFICES OF THIS CITY THAT WERE TO BE ELECTED ON TUESDAY, MARCH 6,
2001.
City Manager Nealis presented the staff report and provisions of the State Code that permit
the City Council to consider Resolution No. 895 which would cancel the March 6, 2001 Election
and prevent write-in candidacy due to the fact that there were an identical number of
candidates as offices being considered in the March 6, 2001 Election. With minimal discussion,
a motion was made by Councilmember Hill, which was seconded by Councilmember Lay to
adopt Resolution No. 895 entitled a resolution of the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills,
California, providing for the appointment to the offices of this City that were to be elected on
Tuesday, March 6, 2001. This motion carried by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Hill, Lay, Mayor Pro Tem Murdock and Mayor Pernell.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Heinsheimer.
ABSTAIN: None.
Councilmembers and the City Manager congratulated Mayor Pernell on his re-election.
INSTALLATION AND OATH OF OFFICE FOR NEWLY APPOINTED OFFICIALS
Mayor Pernell requested that this item be held over and included on an agenda where he and
Councilmember Tom Heinsheimer will be in attendance. This item was continued to the
January 8, 2001 City Council meeting.

Hearing no further business before the City Council, Mayor Pernell adjourned the meeting at
8:40 a.m. to the next regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council to be held on Monday,
January 8, 2001, in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling
Hills, California.
