2/11/2002MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA FEBRUARY 11, 2002 CALL TO ORDER A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills was called to order by Mayor Murdock at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills, California. ROLL CALL Councilmembers Present: Heinsheimer, Hill, Pernell, and Mayor Murdock. Councilmembers Absent: Mayor Pro Tem Lay (excused). Others Present: Craig Nealis, City Manager. Nan Huang, Finance Director. Marilyn Kern, Deputy City Clerk. Sgt. Susan St. Marie, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Lomita Station. Sgt. Xavier Aguilar, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Lomita Station. CONSENT CALENDAR Matters which may be acted upon by the City Council in a single motion. Any Councilmember may request removal of any item from the Consent Calendar causing it to be considered under Council Actions. a. Minutes - Regular Meeting of January 28, 2002. RECOMMENDATION: Approve as presented. b. Payment of Bills. RECOMMENDATION: Approve as presented. C. General Purpose Financial Statements dated June 30, 2001. RECOMMENDATION: Approve as presented. d. Correspondence from California Water Service Company regarding Advice Letter No. 1510, which has been filed with the California Public Utilities Commission. RECOMMENDATION: Receive and file. Councilmember Heinsheimer moved that the City Council approve the recommendations in the Consent Calendar. Councilmember Hill seconded the motion, which carried unanimously by those Councilmembers in attendance. PLANNING COMMISSION ITEMS None. TRAFFIC COMMISSION ITEMS CONSIDERATION OF A RECOMMENDATION FROM THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION REGARDING A PALOS VERDES WOMAN'S CLUB GARDEN TOUR. Mayor Murdock introduced the item. Hearing no discussion, she called for a motion. Councilmember Heinsheimer moved that the City Council approve the recommendations of the Traffic Commission for the Palos Verdes Woman's Club to conduct a Garden Tour on Saturday, May 4, 2002. Councilmember Hill seconded the motion which carried unanimously by those Councilmembers in attendance. PUBLIC HEARINGS None. Minutes City Council Meeting 02/11/02 -1- OLD BUSINESS None. NEW BUSINESS None. OPEN AGENDA - APPROXIMATELY 8:00 P.M. - PUBLIC COMMENT WELCOME Sgt. Susan St. Marie introduced Sgt. Xavier Aguilar. She indicated that Sgt. Aguilar is new to Lomita Station and that he will be the supervisor for the field units. MATTERS FROM MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Personnel Subcommittee Member Mayor Jody reported that the Subcommittee met just prior to this evening's meeting and that their recommendations will be placed on the next agenda for City Council consideration. MATTERS FROM STAFF None. MATTERS FROM THE CITY ATTORNEY None. ADIOURNMENT Hearing no further business before the City Council, Mayor Murdock adjourned the meeting at 7:35 p.m. to the next regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council to be held on Monday, February 25, 2002 in the City Council Chambers, at City Hall, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills, California.
