CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills was called to order by Mayor
Heinsheimer at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling
Hills, California.
ROLL CALL
Councilmembers Present: Hill, Lay, Mayor Pro Tem Pernell and Mayor Heinsheimer.
Councilmembers Absent: Black(excused).
Others Present: Anton Dahlerbruch, City Manager.
Yolanta Schwartz, Planning Director.
Heidi Luce, Deputy City Clerk.
CONSENT CALENDAR
Matters which may be acted upon by the City Council in a single motion. Any Councilmember may
request removal of any item from the Consent Calendar causing it to be considered under Council
Actions.
A. Minutes - Regular Meeting of October 12, 2009.
RECONIlVIENDATION: Approve as presented.
B. Payment of Bills.

C. Financial Statement for the Month of September, 2009.
RECOMN�NDATION: Approve as presented.
D. Correspondence from Cox Communications Palos Verdes regarding Channel Line-up
Addition/Changes.
RECOMI��NDATION: Receive and file.
E. Resolution No. 1076: A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills
granting approval for a site plan review for grading and construction of a new single
family residence and granting a request for variances to exceed the m�imum permitted
disturbed area of the lot and to construct a stable and corral in the front yard in Zoning
Case No. 767, at 0 Pine Tree Lane, (Lot 101-2-RH), (Turpanjian). Project has been
determined to be exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act.
RECONIlV�NDATION: Approve as presented.
Councilmember Lay moved that the City Council approve the items on the consent calendar.
Councilmember Hill seconded the motion, which carried unanimously by those Councilmembers
present.

MATTERS FROM MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
Mayor Pro Tem Pernell updated the City Council on the recent County Sanitation Districts Board of
Directors' meeting and the Marine Life Protection Act.
Councilmember Lay noted for the City Council's information that he will not be at the meeting of
November 9, 2009.
MATTERS FROM STAFF
UPDATE ON FIRE APPRECIATION EVENT(ORAL).
Deputy City Clerk Luce updated the City Council on the Fire Appreciation Event scheduled for
Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Del Cerro Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. She
stated that the Mayor will co-emcee the event with Mayor Larry Clark from Rancho Palos Verdes. She
noted that the presentations will begin at 10:00 a.m. and that the planning committee is still seeking
volunteers.

CLOSED SESSION
The City Council finds, based on advice from legal counsel, that discussion in open session will
prejudice the position of the local agency in the litigation.

ADJOURNMENT
Hearing no further business before the City Council, Mayor Heinsheimer adjourned the meeting at 7:32
p.m. to the next regular meeting of the City Council scheduled to be held on Monday, November 9, 2009
beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling
Hills, California.
